In SPLENDID ONLINE COMMUNITIES, around 30 study participants discuss a given topic. A project-specific online community typically runs for 1 to 2 weeks. Every day a specific topic is dealt with and the daily time spent by the subjects should not exceed about one hour. As with classical qualitative survey methods, there is a moderator who posts questions, specifically examines and motivates the subjects to active participation.
